At last, 'tis the season for baking! It might just be all of the Tumblr and Pinterest recipes popping up, but it's almost Halloween and I just can't help but want to bake ALL the things. Since it would have been selfish to keep these amazing finds to myself, I decided to share them with you. This is just a small selection of recipes for creepy and cute food that might be great to serve at a Halloween party (or every other day of the year, because you know, goths).
: The recipe
sounds slightly challenging so I'm guessing it's not for beginners but the result is beautiful and, without a doubt, delicious.
: For lovers of the undead: these cookies
seem quite easy to make and look amazing in their simplicity. What more can you ask for?
: These meringues
look ridiculously adorable. They also remind me of these
similar ghost cupcakes.
: Although it might be more of a children's treat, this pudding
looks easy to make. Unfortunately ir also sounds unhealthy enough to give anyone a liver crisis. Then again, omnomnom.
: This is one of my favourite things to make, ever. Personally I prefer Voltaire's recipe (from his book Paint it Black
, I make it almost every year) but there's plenty of other good recipes
: Both the witches' fingers
and the mummies look amazing - I'd personally not use pretzels (too salty) but rather some kind of long cookie.
: Not for the faint of heart (or stomach); these jello worms
look almost too real. Display on a plate of dirt (crumbled Oreos) for maximum effect.
Mummy Hot Dogs
: I made these
last year (using vegetarian sausages) and they were a great success. If you're feeling creative, you could even cut the sausages so the mummies have tiny limbs.
Enjoy browsing and baking and be sure to let me know your favourite spooky recipes - I'm always on the lookout.
